REQUREMENTS:
An Applicant Must --
(1) be a graduating senior (Class of 2011) of an accredited (TEA) high school within Bexar
County,
(2) have resided in
(3) achieve a minimum total score of 1000 on the new SAT using the Critical Reading and Math
scores only, or composite 22 on the ACT.
(4) rank in the upper one-half of high school graduating class.
(5) be unable to attend college without financial assistance.
(6) be planning to attend a state-supported or non-denominational college or university within
the State of
(7) be of good character.
AN APPLICANT NOT MEETING ALL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS WILL HAVE HIS/HER
APPLICATION RETURNED WITHOUT PROCESSING.
PROCEDURES:
If all of the above criteria are met --
(1) obtain an application from your High School Counselor.
(2) complete your application and provide all necessary information as indicated.
(3) submit your completed application with your high school transcript to the Baumberger
Endowment office no later that February 15.
(4) complete Financial Information Form attached to application and submit to the Baumberger
Endowment office no later than February 15.
AN APPLCATION RECEIVED AFTER FEBRUARY 15 WILL BE RETURNED WITHOUT
PROCESSING. AN APPLICATION RECEIVED
WITHOUT ALL SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS WILL NOT BE RATED. AN ORIGINAL APPLICATION (NO PHOTOCOPIES,
FAXED, OR E-MAILED COPIES) MUST BE SUBMITTED.
POLICIES:
Baumberger Scholars are:
* evaluated on a competitive basis without regard to race, color, ethnic origin, sex, age, or
religion.
* selected by an impartial Selection Committee of professional educators.
* awarded renewable scholarships with the amount of stipend calculated each year based on
college costs and student resources.
* challenged to pursue quality higher education to the fullest extent culminating in a degree.
CONDITIONS:
Baumberger Scholars must:
1) Carry a FULL-TIME course load. Undergraduate should COMPLETE AT LEAST
TWELVE (12) credit hours per semester and a minimum of 24 semester hours credit for the
academic year.
2) Maintain semester and cumulative grade point average of at least a 2.0.
3) Abide by the rules and regulations of their college or university and be in good standing at all
times with the institution.
